MIkeI can`t fine the schematic for the lav mic, the link doesn`t work anymore on my computer…Īnybody have a copy and can send to me? I already have the Panasonic capsule mic and like to build my first one. Does anyone know other places to find these components or other components I could substitute? I am new at this so I may be missing something but my search at Digi-key turned up nothing that was not insanely expensive ($80 ea.) or out of stock. The problem is that I have not been able to locate either a 10uF mylar or metalized polypropyelene (not an electrolytic) or a 2.2Kohm 1% metal-film resistor. I also found the ceramic disc capacitor at Digi-key. It looks like the microphone capsules the article recommends (Panasonic WM-60AY) are no longer made, but I found the Panasonic WM-61A capsules that seem to be a good substitute. I have been looking at Digi-key for these components. It was cheaper than the EM172, so I went with it. Since it's discontinued, I went with the JLI-61A as it's supposed to be a complete replica/replacement for the WM-61A. At first, I was considering the Primo EM172, but then found the Panasonic WM-61A. The problem is that it is an old article and it seems to me like many of the necessary components are no longer available. I learned that electret microphone capsules were a thing. I wanted to try to build this - it sounds like it would be fun and fairly easy to do and produce good results. I have had a bit of experience building and repairing electronics, and recently I dug up this old tape-op article on how to build a microphone.
